Flags of Japan and China waving against a blue sky - Japan E-Tourist Visa application for Chinese citizens

Japan E-Tourist Visa for Chinese Citizens

For citizens of the People's Republic of China, Japan is a top-tier destination due to its proximity and cultural depth. Whether it's a weekend shopping trip to Ginza, a culinary tour in Osaka, or skiing in Hokkaido, the flow of travelers across the East China Sea is massive.

In 2026, the Japanese government allows eligible Chinese citizens to apply for the Japan E-Tourist Visa. However, unlike Western countries, Chinese passport holders (Group B) cannot apply individually directly to the government site; applications must be processed through an Authorized Partner Agency. Our platform acts as your digital application support, handling document collection and submission through our accredited partners.

Quick Overview for Chinese Citizens

  • Visa Type: Japan E-Tourist Visa (Temporary Visitor)

  • Processing Time: 9–15 Business Days

  • Visa Fee: $100.00 USD (All-Inclusive Service Fee)

  • Application Method: Online (Processed via Authorized Partner in Japan)

  • Validity: Single Entry (15 to 90 days stay)

We simplify the mandatory "agency-only" requirement. Instead of visiting a physical travel agency in Beijing or Shanghai, you can upload your documents to our secure portal. We review them for errors and submit them via our authorized partners based in Japan. To begin, Apply for Japan Visa.

Important Disclaimer: We are not affiliated with the Embassy or Government of Japan. We assist applicants by collecting documents and submitting them through authorized partner agencies accredited by the Japanese Government. The final decision rests solely with the Japanese authorities.

Traveling from China to Japan (Flight Routes)

The flight network between China and Japan is dense and efficient, often functioning like a domestic shuttle.

  • From Shanghai (PVG/SHA): The busiest route. China Eastern, ANA, and JAL offer multiple daily flights to Tokyo (Narita/Haneda) and Osaka (KIX). Flight time is under 3 hours.

  • From Beijing (PEK/PKX): Air China and JAL provide direct connections to Tokyo.

  • From South China (CAN/SZX): China Southern serves Guangzhou and Shenzhen with direct flights to Tokyo and Osaka.

Critical Arrival Note: Japan is 1 hour ahead of China. We recommend having your "Visa Issuance Notice" (displaying the "Issued" status) ready on your mobile browser upon landing.

Financial Insights: CNY (RMB) to JPY

Chinese travelers find spending in Japan increasingly convenient as Japanese merchants adapt to Chinese payment habits.

  • Alipay & WeChat Pay: Accepted at major convenience stores (Lawson, 7-Eleven), department stores (Don Quijote, Bic Camera), and airports. However, rural ryokans may still require cash.

  • UnionPay: Almost universally accepted in Japanese cities. It is often the best way to withdraw Yen from ATMs with lower fees.

  • Cash: Always carry some Yen cash for ticket machines or small shrines that do not accept QR codes.

Visa Payment: Our portal charges the $100.00 USD fee. You can pay using an international credit card (Visa/Mastercard). If you only have UnionPay, ensure it is co-badged or enabled for online USD transactions. See our Visa Types and Prices page.

Japan E-Tourist Visa Cost & Processing Time

As a "Group B" applicant, your file undergoes a strict review process by our partners and the Japanese authorities.

  • Timeframe: 9 to 15 Business Days.

  • Refund Policy: Applicant information is shared with authorized partner agencies for processing. Once the application is submitted to the agency, the service fee is non-refundable, regardless of the outcome. See our Refund Policy.

Japan E-Tourist Visa FAQ for Chinese Citizens

Is this the same as the 3-Year or 5-Year Multiple Entry Visa?

No. The standard E-Tourist Visa is typically for a Single Entry (15 to 90 days). Multiple Entry visas have stricter financial requirements (high-income tax certificates) and often require a different physical application path.

Can I apply individually without an agency?

No. The Japanese government requires Chinese citizens (Group B) to apply through an authorized travel agency. You cannot submit an application directly to the MOFA site yourself. Our platform facilitates this mandatory agency process for you.

Can I use this visa to visit Okinawa or Tohoku?

Yes. The standard E-Tourist Visa covers the entire country, including Okinawa, Hokkaido, and the Tohoku region.

Do I need to print the visa?

No. A PDF printout or screenshot is invalid. You must display the "Visa Issuance Notice" on your mobile screen with a live internet connection at the immigration counter.
