Flags of Japan and the Philippines waving against a blue sky - Japan E-Tourist Visa for Filipino citizens

Japan E-Tourist Visa for Philippines Citizens

From the "Piso Fare" hunters dreaming of cherry blossoms to families planning a trip to Universal Studios Japan (USJ), Japan is the ultimate dream destination for Filipinos. The cultural exchange is massive, with Japan being one of the top holiday spots for Pinoy travelers.

In 2026, the Japanese government allows eligible Philippines citizens to apply for the Japan E-Tourist Visa. However, Philippine passport holders (Group B) cannot apply individually directly to the government site. Applications must be processed through an Authorized Partner Agency. Our platform digitizes this process, allowing you to submit your requirements online without queuing at agencies in Manila or Cebu.

Quick Overview for Philippines Citizens

  • Visa Type: Japan E-Tourist Visa (Temporary Visitor)

  • Processing Time: 9–15 Business Days

  • Visa Fee: $100.00 USD (All-Inclusive Service Fee)

  • Application Method: Online (Processed via Authorized Partner in Japan)

  • Validity: Single Entry (15 to 90 days stay)

We simplify the mandatory "agency-only" requirement. Instead of physically submitting documents to a travel agency in SM Megamall or Makati, you can upload them to our secure portal. We review them for errors (like ITR mismatches) and submit them via our authorized partners based in Japan. To begin, Apply for Japan Visa.

Important Disclaimer: We are not affiliated with the Embassy or Government of Japan. We assist applicants by collecting documents and submitting them through authorized partner agencies accredited by the Japanese Government. The final decision rests solely with the Japanese authorities.

Traveling from the Philippines to Japan (Flight Routes)

Connectivity is excellent, with multiple carriers serving the MNL-Japan route.

  • Full Service (PAL / ANA / JAL): Philippine Airlines offers comfortable direct flights from Manila (MNL) and Cebu (CEB) to Tokyo (Haneda/Narita), Osaka, and Fukuoka.

  • Low Cost (Cebu Pacific / AirAsia / Jetstar): Popular among budget travelers. Cebu Pacific flies directly to Narita, Osaka, Nagoya, and Fukuoka. Watch out for strict baggage weight limits on your return if you shop heavily at Don Quijote.

  • Travel Time: A direct flight usually takes about 4 to 4.5 hours, making it a quick getaway.

Critical Arrival Note: Japan is 1 hour ahead of the Philippines. We recommend having your "Visa Issuance Notice" (displaying the "Issued" status) ready on your mobile browser upon landing.

Financial Insights: PHP to JPY

The Japanese Yen (JPY) has become more affordable for Filipinos, but payment habits differ.

  • GCash & Maya: These local e-wallets do NOT work in Japan. Do not rely on them. You need a physical card or cash.

  • Cards: BDO, BPI, and UnionBank credit/debit cards are widely accepted. Ensure you call your bank to activate "International Access" before flying.

  • Cash is King: Small ramen shops and train ticket machines often require Yen cash. Withdraw from 7-Eleven ATMs in Japan for the best rates.

Visa Payment: Our portal charges the $100.00 USD fee. You can pay using any Visa or Mastercard. See our Visa Types and Prices page.

Japan E-Tourist Visa Cost & Processing Time

As a "Group B" applicant, your file undergoes a strict review process by our partners and the Japanese authorities.

  • Service Fee ($100.00 USD): This covers the Authorized Partner handling fee, document verification, and digital submission.

  • Timeframe: 9 to 15 Business Days.

  • Refund Policy: Applicant information is shared with authorized partner agencies for processing. Once the application is submitted to the agency, the service fee is non-refundable, regardless of the outcome. See our Refund Policy.

The Golden Rule: Ensure your photo has a white background and no glasses. Our experts review every file to prevent rejection before it reaches the authorities. You can Track Visa Status anytime.

Japan E-Visa Requirements for Philippine Passport Holders

To ensure approval via the partner channel, Filipinos typically need:

  • Valid Philippine Passport: Must be valid for the duration of stay.

  • Digital Photograph: White background, no glasses.

  • PSA Birth Certificate: Often required, especially for first-time applicants, to prove identity consistency.

  • Financial Proof:

Permitted vs. Prohibited Activities

The Japan E-Tourist Visa is strictly for short-term stays.

  • Visiting friends or relatives (Balikbayan visits).

  • Short-term business meetings.

❌ Prohibited Activities:

  • "TNT" (Tago Ng Tago): Overstaying or working illegally is strictly monitored and leads to deportation/ban.

  • Job hunting.

  • Selling goods or services.

Japan E-Tourist Visa FAQ for Philippines Citizens

Is this valid for Multiple Entry?

No. The standard E-Tourist Visa is typically for a Single Entry. If you want a Multiple Entry Visa (valid for 5 or 10 years), you usually need to apply physically with stricter financial documents (proof of high income).

Can I apply without an ITR?

It is risky. The ITR (Form 2316) is a key document for Filipinos to prove return intent. If you are a freelancer or business owner, you may submit BIR Form 1701 or a strong explanation letter with bank statements, but approval is at the consul's discretion.

Do I need to show a return ticket?

Yes. Proof of a return flight to Manila/Cebu or an onward ticket is required to prove you do not intend to overstay.

Do I need to print the visa?

No. A screenshot or PDF printout is invalid. You must display the "Visa Issuance Notice" on your mobile screen with a live internet connection (roaming or Pocket WiFi) at the immigration counter.
